Prince Harry’s fiancee’ was just 18-years-old when she is filmed as a jobbing actress desperately trying to land roles. 

The candid video shows an excited Meghan as she drives back from an audition for the £445 music video role, with her then best friend Ninaki Priddy, during the summer of 1999 .

Meghan Markle shares her hopes and dreams with her best friend as they drive around Los Angeles - a million miles away from her life today, having rocketed to fame as a successful TV actress in Suits and becoming engaged to Prince Harry. 

Speaking directly to the camera as she drives a Volvo hatchback, Meghan revealed how nervous she was to dance in front of five people “just watching me”. 

She said: "This is the aftermath of the audition and it went pretty well.

“We just all danced like wild women and I was shaking my hair around and all sorts of stuff, so hopefully I’ll book that.

“It’s $600 for two days and if not then I’ll probably get extra work for it which would be just as good.

“I won't get any camera shots but it will be just as fun.” 

Pushing her hair back from her face and adjusting her strapped top, she added: “I am burning up, I was really nervous I was going to fall out of my top I was just shaking around so much.” 

Meghan had already had her music video breakthrough in Tori Amos’ hit 2000 Oceans. 

But the teenager didn’t get the Shakira job. 

The candid home video also shows Meghan talking about her strained relationship with her father, Thomas Markle. 

Ms Priddy, who shared the footage with The Sun, said it provided “an insight into the world Meghan has been trying to protect”. 

She said: “This is an unguarded version of herself, with her vulnerabilities and insecurities.

"It was two to three months after high school graduation. I don't think she ever doubted she was going to be famous. She loved the spotlight." 

Ms Priddy and Meghan stopped speaking in 2011 after the US actress split from her first husband, TV producer Trever Engelson.
