JAIPUR: Additional chief medical and health officer (Bharatpur) Manish Chaudhary was arrested for allegedly threatening health department's additional director (gazetted) Girish Parashar with dire consequences on Tuesday.
Parashar is a RAS officer, who has taken over the post of additional director (gazetted) replacing a doctor recently. All Rajasthan In Service Doctors Association (ARISDA) has been protesting against health department for giving him the charge of additional director (gazetted). It is one of the four main demands of ARISDA. ARISDA has already issued three days deadline to the health department to transfer Parashar which is ending on December 6.
On November 23, the situation turned ugly, when ARISDA had alleged that Parashar had misbehaved with a doctor, who was pregnant. Following that, she was admitted to a hospital.
Four days after the incident on November 27, Parashar filed a complaint at Jyoti Nagar police station mentioning that a person called him saying that he is MP and threatening him of dire consequences.
After his complaint, the police provided him security at his health directorate office while investigating into the case.
The police collected the call details of the mobile number from which the RAS officer had received the threatening call. In eight days after filing the case, the police managed to locate the person who had called the officer.
"We have arrested him one Manish Chaudhary, deputy CMHO in this connection. We have recovered the mobile phone from his house situation in Bharatpur," said Devendra Kumar, station house officer Jyoti Nagar police station.
It was difficult for the police to reach the caller as the phone remained switched off all the time.
The demand of transfer of the RAS officer is at the sixth spot of agreement signed by the health department and ARISDA after ARISDA called off their agitation (strike of doctor from November 6 to November 12) on November 12.
ARISDA office-bearers had alleged that the government has not implemented the agreement yet. Now, they are on the course of agitation, if their demands are not fulfilled till December 6. They are demanding immediate replacement of the RAS officer by an official of health department.
