Notably, this is the first theatre activity organised across the nation which highlights the struggle of martyrs on stage. With an aim to create awareness among the present generation about the freedom movement and to give it a broader look plays in different languages too will be presented. Till now more than 90 plays have been staged under this festival. The play began with introducing Rani Laxmi Bai on stage when she is married to King Gangadhar Rao. Slowly and gradually showcasing various events of her life, the play then shifted its focus to the rebellion of 1857.  The play was presented in a poetic form.

The combination of music and light design added more zeal in the presentation of the play. As the uprising of 1857 was at its boom, Rani Laxmi Bai also become a part of the struggle with the Indian soldiers and revolted against the Britishers.
