Conor McGregor vs Max Holloway 2: Coach doesn't see featherweight rematch happening
CONOR MCGREGOR is unlikely to return to the featherweight division to take part in a rematch with Max Holloway.

McGregor and Holloway, 29 and 26 respectively, locked horns with one another at UFC Fight Night 26 back in August 2013.
The current UFC lightweight champion came out of the fiercely contested bout, in which he tore his ACL, victorious, defeating Holloway via unanimous decision.
Holloway has been in imperious form since losing to McGregor, rattling off 12 straight wins on his way to claiming and retaining the featherweight title.
The Hawaiian's impressive win streak, the longest in UFC featherweight history, has made many fans eager to see him rematch McGregor.
Talk of a second encounter between the pair reared its head this past weekend after Holloway's UFC 218 victory over Jose Aldo, whom he defeated via third round TKO.
And it heated up even more on Sunday night when the duo traded verbal jabs with each other on Twitter, much to the delight of their respective set of fans.
McGregor entertained talk of a rematch between himself and Holloway at a recent Q&A in Glasgow, in which he also hinted that he may one day return to the featherweight division.

So what is the likelihood of the UFC’s poster boy returning to the 145lbs division to take on 'Blessed'?
According to McGregor's head coach, John Kavanagh, the chances of a rematch between the pair taking place at featherweight are very slim.
“I don’t (see him returning to featherweight),” Kavanagh told Express Sport. “That would be my honest answer on that.

Despite not foreseeing McGregor returning to the featherweight division, Kavanagh is refusing to rule out such an event occurring.
“But, I also would say if you asked me six months before the (Floyd) Mayweather fight if that’s going to happen I would’ve said no,” he continued.

“So I’m not the one to ask or make decisions about that. That will be Conor’s choice. I find it hard to see that (happening). That’s my opinion.”
McGregor, 21-3, hasn't set foot inside the Octagon since his historic UFC 205 victory over Eddie Alvarez, a triumph which saw him become the first fighter in the promotion's history to hold two titles simultaneously.
