Man Utd, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona set for largest EVER World Cup payout

FIFA have set aside their largest ever fund of $209million (£155m) to pay clubs whose players participate at next summer’s World Cup.

Football’s governing body will grant each team a payment of around $8,530 (£6,330) per day that the player is away with his international side, according to a report circulated by FIFA secretary general Fatma Samoura to member associations.

The payments will commence on July 1, two weeks before the opening game of the tournament between hosts Russia and Saudi Arabia, with the final payment made the day after the player exits the competition.

The party pot is triple the $70m (£52m) made available for Brazil 2014 and five times the amount for South Africa 2010.

It means that teams whose players go the furthest will reap the most rewards.

Clubs will be paid a giant fee for the players playing in the World Cup.

Manchester United are expected to have around 16 players at the tournament which could bring in over £1.4million before a ball is even kicked.

Chelsea would have a similar number and would receive further funding if their Brazilian’s David Luiz and Willian progress to the latter stages as they are expected to do so.

Real Madrid picked up the second largest amount last time out at an estimated £925,000, according to insideworldfootball.com.

Gareth Southgate will guide England into the World Cup.

Barcelona will also be hoping their Spanish stars to progress to the final, along with Lionel Messi’s Argentina.

Bayern Munich topped the pile in 2014 with over £1m as Germany went all the way to win the World Cup.

However, the top clubs are expected to pocket around £4m this time around thanks to the hugely enhanced party pot.

There is also a separate Club Protection Programme (CPP) in place to cover any injuries incurred at the tournament.
