Birthday gift: Now, Akhilesh Yadav adopts Khazanchi’s village

KANPUR: After celebrating his birthday a day before in Saifai, Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav announced his decision to adopt 'Khazanchi Nath's village Anantapura in Derapur tehsil of Kanpur Dehat on Monday.


SP spokesperson Rajendra Chowdhary said "Akhilesh Yadav has adopted Anantapura, where Khazanchi Nath and his family lives. The village will be developed as 'Samajwadi Vikas Gaon'. Various schemes woll be launched for the village's development."


On Sunday, the former UP chief minister celebrated the birthday of `Khazanchi Nath' at the airstrip in Saifai, his native village. 'Khazanchi', which means 'treasurer' in Hindi, was born outside a bank on December 2, 2016 in Jhinjhak area of Kanpur Dehat. His mother Sarvesha Devi had gone to withdraw money from a privatised bank in Jhinjhak area of the district when she gave birth to a baby boy. Thereafter, the family named him 'Khazanchi Nath'.
