James Rodriguez: Bayern Munich star could leave Real Madrid for England

Rodriguez left Real Madrid in the summer after struggling for game time under Zinedine Zidane last season.

However, the Colombian has failed to show his best form at the Allianz Arena, with his confidence shot following the departure of manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Chelsea and Manchester United were both interested in securing his signature in the summer but ultimately decided to place their faith in other targets.

Yet BetStars think Rodriguez could be set to make a sensational move to the Premier League amid reports Bayern Munich want him off their books.

Chelsea lead the race at 3/1 with United at 7/2.

Former club Monaco, who Rodriguez left when he signed for Real shortly after the 2014 World Cup, are priced at 6/1 with Juventus and Arsenal outsiders.

BetStars Director of Trading Ian Marmion said: “Following a difficult spell at Real Madrid, James Rodriguez moved to Bayern Munich on a two-year loan deal in the summer, however the Colombian playmaker could be set for a shock move to the Premier League!

“If Rodriguez decides to make a permanent move from Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United are believed to be in pole position to sign the attacking midfielder.

"The Blues are valued at 3/1 to complete a deal for Rodriguez, whereas the Red Devils are just behind at 7/2.

“Arsenal are the other Premier League side interested in acquiring the Colombian, however their odds of 12/1 make them outsiders for his signature.

“Rodriguez’s former side, Monaco, are another possible destination and we make them 6/1 to bring the midfielder back to Stade Louis II. Italian Champions Juventus are also in contention at 9/1 to sign Rodriguez.

“Rodriguez has made 14 appearances for Bayern Munich this season, scoring two goals and making three assists.”

United’s need for Rodriguez appears greater with Henrikh Mkhitaryan struggling in the No10 role.

Chelsea, however, could beat them to his signature with Antonio Conte keen to boost his squad next month.
