Undertrial inmate of Bundi central jail shot at in court

An undertrial inmate of Bundi central jail was shot at by three unidentified persons at a district premises today, the police said.

The victim was rushed to a Bundi district hospital with three bullet injuries and was then transfered to a hospital in Kota, they said.


After the incident, the three accused fled the spot on a motorbike, the police said.

Rakesh Singh, a resident of Panipat in Haryana, was today brought to the district from the jail for appearance in a case when a person shot at him thrice and fled with two of his accomplices on a motorcycle, they said.

When contacted, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Samandar Singh Champawat confirmed the firing incident at the premises but refused to divulge further details saying investigation into the matter is underway.
