Nritya Tirth 2017 dance prog held at Campion School

The Bhopalites enjoyed the Monday evening with classical dance performances. Shreelayam Natyashree Kala Samiti organized its 16th annual function ‘Nritya Tirth 2017’ here on Monday at Campion School auditorium.

The entire event was a blend of extravagant and colourful cultural performances. The dancers presented the three most beautiful and captivating Indian classical dance forms Bharatnatyam, Mohinyattam and Kuchhipudi.

On the occasion, Chairman and Managing Director AGS Group, Hemant Kumar was present as the chief guest. Father Shiju Verghese Principal of St Joseph’s Coed was present as the guest of honour and DK Sharma Divisional Joint Director and DEO was present as the special guest.

The series of mesmerizing performances began with worshipping Lord Ganesha. The artists performed the Gnesh Stuti with efficiency which was directed by Kavita Shaji in a devotional form. The performances were followed by Arengetram dance and Thaali dance leaving the audience totally enthralled by the elegancy of footwork and abhinaya.

The perfect coordination, the fast synchronization of footwork with fast music was of the artists were applaudable. The artists gave mesmerising performance which let audience glued to their seats. The use of hands, eyes, reflexes, and coordination of various parts of the body with perfection is needed for getting expertise in classical dance, which Natyashree students showed with dexterity on stage. On the occasion, Shaji M said, “In the last 17 years Shreelayam Natyashree Kalasamti has taken great pains to popularise the ancient classical dance forms in the north region of the country. We have immensely tried our best to promote these classical dance forms at national and international level. Our sincere efforts are put in to protect our heritage and culture in various art forms.”

The dance performances were beautifully choreographed by Director of Shreelayam Natyashree Kalasamti Shaji M, Shyamal Kadwe and Kalamandalam Kavita Shaji.
