Lily Allen, 32, caused a storm recently when she complained on Twitter that she would be homeless over Christmas thanks to tenants in her Notting Hill home.

The singer, who is the daughter of actor Keith Allen and film producer Alison Owen, wrote: “Meant to be moving back into my flat this week, but my tenants just dropped that they can't find anywhere to go up to their standards.

“Then they said they're diplomats and have diplomatic immunity and there's nothing I can do about it. 

“So, who fancies a family of 3 for Xmas?”

The tweet has now been deleted. Allen attended Prince Charles’ junior school.

She also lived with comedian Harry Enfield while her mother dated the TV star, and a close friend was The Clash singer and guitarist Joe Strummer.

Lily Allen’s flat, which she complained her tenants would not leave, is reportedly worth £2m.

One of the tenants, who gave her name as Maria, told the Sun: “We are going to leave. I just asked for a couple of days. I’m really astonished. I don’t know why she did this.

“We are diplomats. But I don’t want to make trouble to our embassy. This is so stupid. I can’t believe this."

Allen was criticised by fans for the public outburst pertaining to her living arrangements and those of her tenants.

One user wrote: "Bit of a crazy request, but has anyone got Bob Geldof's number? I think we need to organise a concert to buy @lilyallen a 4 million pound property for Christmas. She's homeless and in need. Who's with me?"

Another added: “Just sing outside their front door, that'll get them shifted in under an hour.” 

Lily Allen’s Twitter rant comes after the singer was confronted by Jon Snow after she claimed 'I didn't used to have money’. 

Presenter Jon Snow questioned Ms Allen, he said: "I suppose people looking at it may say, she's probably pretty well off, I guess she lives in the nice house and all the rest of it.

To which Ms Allen retorted: "I do now because I earn a lot of money but I didn't used to when I grew up around here."

Jon Snow replied: "Really?!"
