PANAJI: Chief minister Manohar Parrikar is likely to head the newly formed Mopa Planning and Development Authority (PDA) while former St Cruz MLA Atanasio 'Babush' Monserrate is likely to head the Greater Panaji PDA.
Town and country planning minister Vijai Sardesai told reporters on Sunday that the Greater Panaji PDA may be headed by someone from the GFP. Political analysts said that Monserrate, newly inducted in the GFP, would likely get the Greater Panaji PDA as he had supported Parrikar in the recently concluded Panaji by-elections. The Mopa PDA has been formed because the government, in 2016, notified Mopa under the planning area, said Sardesai.
Recently, the town and country planning board took the decision to divide the North Goa Planning and Development Authority (NGPDA) into two more planning authorities.
