HYDERABAD: Days after the High Court jibe, the state government said on Monday that it would issue a new GO on Teacher Recruitment Test (TST) notification to fill vacant teacher posts.
Deptuy chief minister (education) Kadiyam Srihari said that as per the High Court’s order, GO No. 25 had been struck down and a new GO would be issued. “The revised TRT notification will be in accordance with the HC directives and will pertain only to the 10 districts. The details will be released by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) later,” he said.

On November 24 the HC had directed the authorities to confine the vacant teacher posts to the erstwhile 10 districts instead of the reorganised 31 districts and asked the TSPSC to issue a modified notification for recruitment of 8,792 teachers in the education department. Further, the court also directed that the deadline for receiving applications from  candidates who had not applied earlier be extended till December 15.

Meanwhile, taking a jibe at the Telangana Joint Action Committee’s ‘Koluvula kai Kotlata’ meeting on Monday, as a platform to agitate and raise the employment-related issues of the youth in the state, Srihari said the public meeting was not for the public but for individuals. “We know who is organising the ‘Koluvula kai Kotlata’. It is not a fight for employment but one for some leaders to save their employment,” he remarked on the sidelines of a review meeting on TRT with the TSPSC secretary at the secretariat here on Monday.

Speaking about the suicide by an MSc student of Osmania University in the hostel washroom on Sunday, Srihari said that neither the TRS party nor the government should be blamed for suicides because they were doing what they had promised. He recalled that chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao stated on August 15 that his government was committed to filling 1.80 lakh posts by 2018. “We have already filled 29,000 posts. Those who have any doubts can file RTI applications and get information,” Srihari added.
