Victor Lindelof was bought by Manchester United in the summer for £30million after months of speculation about his future.

Many thought the Sweden international would be a regular starter for United, forming a centre-back pairing with Eric Bailly.

However, the former Benfica man has seen his opportunities in the starting XI limited by Jose Mourinho, who has instead opted to phase him in slowly.

And Lindelof had admitted he is not concerned by his slow start to life at Old Trafford, insisting he still has much to learn in the Premier League.

“Always when you come to a new club, you have to learn,” he said ahead of United’s Champions League clash with CSKA Moscow.

“I learn every day. The manager has been very good for me.”

And Lindelof believes the slow approach Mourinho has taken with him is probably for the best as United is a much bigger club than what he was used to with Benfica.

“The league you play in, the Premier League is a tougher league than in Portugal,” he added.

“They are two big clubs [United and Benfica], but Manchester United is a bigger club. 

“It’s one of the biggest in the world and you have more eyes watching you. That is the biggest difference.”

Lindelof has made just 12 appearances for United this term but Mourinho’s faith in him is beginning to grow as he has started the last four Premier League games.

“Im always happy to help the team in any way I can,” he added.

“I’m very pleased to be able to help on the pitch and to get some good results.”
