Strictly Come Dancing: Alexandra Burke breaks down in tears at Craig's emotional message

STRICTLY COME DANCING star Alexandra Burke fought back tears on the show last night after she was praised by tough judge Craig Revel Horwood.

The 29-year-old X Factor winner found herself in the bottom two and facing elimination in the dance-off for a second week in a row.

Alexandra was on the verge of tears after finding out she could be send packing from the show, while judges Darcey Bussell and Shirley Ballas were speechless in shock.

As she prepared to dance again, she was offered words of encouragement by Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig, 52, as he commented: “Well, firstly I cannot believe you’re in the dance off again.

“For me, it’s just crazy, absolutely lunacy. I mean, there’s not much you can do to improve it, you could put your knees together and propeller step. Honestly, I want you to do out there and dance for your life.

“Dance for your mum and go out there. Give it as much as you can!”

Craig’s advice left Alexandra struggling to contain her emotions on the BBC show as she exclaimed: “Oh god!”

When asked by host Tess Daly how she felt about being in the dance off once more, Alexandra said: “Of course we’re gutted but we’re going to try our best again and that’s all that matters.

“We had fun, we had so much fun. It’s a dance where we’ve been able to laugh and smile and play a little character and let’s play it again.”

But as the dreaded dance off grew closer, she found it harder to control her feelings.

Luckily, Alexandra was saved by the judges while Davood Ghadami was sent home after both stars had danced again.

A total of five couples will be back again next week to dance and take a step even closer to the Glitterball Trophy.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One next Saturday at 6.45pm.
