Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram on Monday said large sections of youth of Gujarat have not accepted BJP and have rallied behind Hardik Patel, Alpesh Thakor and Jignesh Mewani.
He said in tweets that the "youth of Punjab accepted Congress. So did youth of Goa and Manipur before the elections were stolen by the BJP. He was referring to the victory of Congress in Punjab and emergence as the largest party in Goa and Manipur in elections earlier this year.
"Why would the youth of Gujarat not acept Congress?," Chidambaram asked.
The former union minister was responding to a reported statement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an election meeting in Gujarat that the youth are not ready to accept the Congress.
