Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) through its newly elected Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Sunday on concluding day of its 63rd National Convention in Ranchi demanded Union Government of introducing job oriented plans like Start-Up Village, Skill India, Make in India, Start-Up India and Stand-Up India and others in higher and school education system so that these plans deliver their benefits the most in times to come.
The largest student organisation in the world, ABVP, whose four-day national convention concluded on Sunday also demanded more new educational institutions in fields presenting new avenues of opportunities of millions of jobs including pharmaceuticals, entertainment industry and sports for a country which was home to over 60 percent of population below 35 years of age. ABVP National President Dr S Subbaiah during a press conference on concluding day said that the quality of research works done in campuses remained an area of concern and the organisation would be working in order to get it improved.
“But I must say that this can only happen after the governments both at centre and in states take higher education seriously and improve infrastructure in campuses at the earliest,” said renowned cancer surgeon Dr Subbaiah.
Notably, the ABVP during its national convention passed three important resolutions with minor amendments including surgical strike on higher education system, welfare of tribal society of India and threats on national security. The organisation said on the day that 1,213 members of ABVP in total attended the national convention from within the country including 997 males, 133 females, 79 teachers and four others excluding 13 invited guests from Nepal comprising 10 students and three teachers.
“Moving a step further in our executive committee meeting, we also discussed emerging threat to the national security from expansionist approach of China and migration from Bangladesh.
