COMILLA: Three people were killed and two others injured as a pickup van falls into a road-side ditch on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Mirsharai upazila of Comilla on Monday morning (Dec 4).
Two of the deceased were identified as Rwab Mia, 50, son of one (late) Ijjat Ali of Shahapur village of Barura upazila and Siddiqur Rahman, 52, son of one Abdul Huq of Teonai villagein Chandina upazila. Both of them were vegetable traders. The third deceased was identified as pickup van driver.
Local Union Parishad (UP) member Moslemuddin told Banglanews that the accident happened around 4:30am while they were returning from Chittagong after finishing vegetable trade. Their pickup skidded off the road and fell into a ditch as the driver lost control over its steering.
