A man was crushed to death when a mica mine caved in last night at Bihar's Nawada district, police said today.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) (Operations) Kumar Alok said the deceased was identified as illegal miner Mahboob Alam.
Local people, however, put the toll at four but the police have not confirmed the other three deaths yet.
The cave-in occurred in the forest area of Barsoth village, a police source said.
A police team led by the ASP will survey the spot, he added.
