VISAKHAPATNAM: The well-marked low pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal, adjoining south Andaman Sea and equatorial Indian Ocean is likely to become a depression over southeast Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood during the next 24 hours.

The associated upper air cyclonic circulation extends up to 5.8 km above the mean sea level and turn into a deep depression during the subsequent 48 hours.  IMD officials say that the cyclonic circulation is likely to intensify and move towards north Tamil Nadu- south Andhra Pradesh coasts during the next three-four days, predicting heavy rain at isolated places in the districts of Chittoor, Kadapa, Anantapur and Kurnool of Rayalaseema by December 5.

“Forming of deep depression would affect the parts of Tamil Nadu and South Coastal AP by December 6. There will be mainly low-level Easterlies over the State,” said IMD scientist Naga Ratna. Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, many places over Chittoor received rainfall. About 4 cm rain was recorded at Kuppam,  3 cm at Santhipuram, 1 cm at Chittoor, Palasamudram, Pakala and  Venkatagiri Kota of Chittoor district.  Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places over Coastal AP and Rayalaseema in the next 24 hours.
