(MENAFN - Jordan News Agency) Tanzania, Dodoma, Dec. 4 (Petra)-Minister of Investment, Muhannad Shehadeh, said Tanzanian market is Jordan's gateway to east African region markets and highlighted the King's key role to build vigorous ties with African countries.
The minster's remarks came during the launch of the Jordanian-Tanzanian Business Forum here in the Tanzanian capital, and deemed the African market as "lucrative", urging to drum up private and public sectors' efforts to seize available investment opportunities.
He underscored the dire need to diversify market destinations to promote national produce there.
"Exploring new markets, like Africa, is not easy and requires economic and political efforts and the direct engagement of the private sector as well," the minster told participants.
He also highlighted the original drive behind his economic Africa tour, that took him to Tanzania, Kenya and Ethiopia, and said "our strong belief in true opportunities in the African market for national industry triggered our visit".
" Our exports to Tanzania will likely be medicine and fertilizers as this African nation heavily relies on the agricultural sector, he pointed out.
Talks with Tanzanian officials, he added, will hopefully lead to penning trade accords and kicking off joint projects.
