NEW DELHI: Embattled liquor baron Vijay Mallya on Monday reiterated that the
charges against him were "false, fabricated and baseless,"+
reported news agency ANI.
"I have said repeatedly that the charges are false, fabricated and baseless. I have nothing to say, submissions in court will be self evident," ANI quoted him as saying.
Mallya refused to comment further, adding that he was "not the decision maker," and would "follow the proceedings."
The 61-year-old tycoon was at London's Westminster Court, for the opening of his extradition trial.

The businessman will be in the dock while the trial is on.
Mallya is currently out on a bail bond of 650,000 pounds, after he was arrested by Scotland Yard over charges of fraud and money laundering.
He is wanted in India for defaulting on loans worth Rs 9,000 crore, taken for his now-defunct Kingfisher Airlines.
The extradition trial will determine whether he can be legally forced to return to India to face the legal system here, reported PTI.
