The Frozen short Olaf's Frozen Adventure will soon no longer play before Coco screenings.
Entertainment Weekly reports Disney is removing the 22-minute short on December 8. Since Coco opened on November 22, audiences have had to sit through roughly 40 minutes of previews, trailers, and the short before finally being able to watch Pixar's latest film.
While some have suggested removing Olaf's Frozen Adventure is a response to poor audience reception, Disney has since released a statement saying the short was always meant to have a limited theatrical run.
"This was always promoted as a limited run so it’s not really a story — the end of our Olaf theatrical play is coming next week,” a Disney representative told EW. “All our ads and messaging called it as such.”
According to Mashable, Disney is requesting theaters to use the extra 20 minutes or so to start holding more Coco screenings after December 7.
If you're not familiar with Olaf's Frozen Adventure, the short follows the titular snowman (Josh Gad) searching for holiday traditions for Anna (Kristen Bell) and Elsa (Idina Menzel).
