GURUGRAM: Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) has invited applications for the allotment of around 150 industrial plots for the development of a mega leather park in IMT Sohna.

The state government is developing a mega leather park in Sohna under the central scheme of mega leather cluster under Indian Leather Development Programme (ILDP) of Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP).

"We have invited applications for the allotment of plots at the mega leather park. The plot sizes will vary and the allotment shall be on lease-hold basis for 99 years," said an official at HSIIDC. There will be three different sized plots with 20 plots of around 4050 sq metre, 60 plots of 1800 sq metre and another 52 plots of around 1000 sq metre.

He further added that the allottees would be eligible to get plot or shed converted to freehold after five years of lease period after the implementation of the project and on payment of one time charge which will be 10% of the allotment price.

The leather park will cater to the production of footwear, footwear accessories and other leather products. However, it will be a complete non-tannery leather park," said the HSIIDC official.

The total cost of the project is expected to be around Rs 220 crore, excluding the cost of land. The leather park will span across 105 acres for which land has been earmarked in IMT Sohna.

The project being developed under the central scheme is also eligible for a grant upto 50% of the project cost subject to a ceiling of Rs. 105 crore for a project size of 101-150 acres.
