Snodgrass, who spent four seasons with Leeds United between 2008 and 2012, applauded the home fans after Villa’s 1-1 draw.
One supporter praised his gesture on Twitter, and said: “Got to say quality from @robsnodgrass7 going around Elland Road applauding fans, should never be booed did a lot for the club when he was there.”
And Snodgrass replied: “That was always the plan regardless [of] the result or me getting booed they were amazing with me for four years.”
Snodgrass played the full 90 minutes as Villa came from behind to nick a point at Elland Road.
Leeds defender Pontus Jansson headed the home side in front in the first half but midfielder Henri Lansbury stepped off the bench after the break to equalise.

Snodgrass, 30, is on loan at Villa Park from West Ham until the end of the season.
He has made a decent start to life with the Villans, scoring three goals and providing four assists.
The Scotland international scored 41 goals in 193 appearances in his spell at Leeds.
Next up for promotion-chasing Villa is a home clash against Millwall on Saturday (3pm).
