Raje’s home turf fares badly in enrolments

Jaipur: Chief minister Vasundhara Raje's home turf Dholpur has stood last in Aadhaar card (AC) enrolments in the state with just 88.69% in the age group of five and above of the total population till December 4, 5.30pm.

Jhalawar, which is the political turf of Raje family (Dushyant Singh is MP and Raje MLA), has stood 19 with 89.64% ACs among 33 districts in the state, according to figures available on Aadhaar.rajasthan.gov.in website run by the department of information technology and communication.


But the average AC enrolment in the age group of five and above in the state is 92% for the total projected population of 7.25 crore.


As per the website, the total projected population of Dholpur is 12,77,532, and 1,44,418 do not have ACs. In Jhalawar, 1,54,698 persons does not have ACs against the total projected population of 14,94, 189. Akhil Arora, principal secretary of information technology and communication, said that information was being updated automatically on the website in real time.


Meanwhile, Jhunjhunu is leading in terms of highest number AC enrolments (95.50%). It is followed by Ajmer, with 95.12% of its population or 27,35,091 having ACs. State capital Jaipur stood 14, with 91.94% of its population having ACs. Officials have explained that the low percentage could also be due to the disinterest shown by people for AC as it was only required for seeking benefits of central and state government schemes.
