Six arrested in Tripura Gramin Bank staff kidnapping case

Tripura police have arrested six miscreants from Agartala, in connection with the kidnapping of four employees of Tripura Gramin Bank. The police have also recovered the ransom amount which was paid to free the four employees. One of the victims Raktim Bhowmik, described the horror of the captivity and stated that the kidnappers were well trained militants. He added that after payment of Rs. 50 lakhs he along with three other colleagues were released after a week. Bhowmik said a group of 17 to 20 militants with sophisticated arms and ammunition, kidnapped them at gun point after stopping their vehicle by blocking the road with tree logs. They kept them in an undisclosed hideout inside Tripura where another group was assigned to keep a watch on them.
