SALEM: Speed trials for a double decker train proposed between Coimbatore and Bengaluru will be held on Tuesday with full set of coaches.

The second speed trial will be conducted on Tuesday with a full rake of double decker coaches -- eight passenger coaches and two luggage cum brake vans -- between Coimbatore and Somanayakkanpatti (next to Jolarpet in the Jolarpet-Bengaluru section).
The train will start from Coimbatore at 9am. The stoppages planned are -- Coimbatore North (9.10am), Tiruppur (9.50am), Erode (10.40am), Sangagiri (11.05am), Salem (11.45am) Tiruppathur (1.30pm) and Somanayakkanpatti (2.10pm).
"The train will return to Coimbatore thereafter," said a Salem Railway Division official.
