eBay: Rare 50p on sale for £2MILLION - could YOU have one stashed away in your change?
EBAY is the place to head if you’re looking to make a buck or two, but one online seller is hoping to get a whopping £2million from a rare 50p coin they had stashed away.
The rare coin, which appears popular among collectors, features a scene from The Battle of Hastings.
The battle took place in October 1066 and began the Norman conquest of England.
William of Normandy and his French army stormed the Sussex coast and defeated King Harold II’s men in a battle that left thousands dead.
It is considered one of the most famous and important battles in English history, and last year marked its 950th anniversary.

One eBay is currently flogging the coin for a whopping £2million
To commemorate the famous event, the Royal Mint released a 50p coin in late 2016.
The coin shows an image from the famous Bayeux tapestry, the 70-metre long cloth, which served a visual depiction of the battle for historians.
Website ThinkMoney.co.uk said in November 2016: “If you have one of these to hand or in your wallet, it could be sold for at least £50.”
But it seems over the last few months, those if have been lucky enough to get their hands on one have been hoping to make much more.

But with five million of the Battle of Hastings coins being pressed initially, it will not be the rarest of coins.
The rarest 50p coin is one produced in 2011 to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Royal Botanical gardens.
