    While Skill India has been the recent buzz word coined by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, one Indian has been on a journey of skilling the underprivileged in Africa since over 25 years.

    Meet M.S.R.V Prasad, chairman of the Hyderabad headquartered Prasaditya Group, a $1.5 billion conglomerate with interests ranging from manufacturing to film studious, who provides direct and indirect employment to nearly 20,000 people in over in 13 countries in Africa, namely Mali, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Kenya, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mauritania, Guinea, Madagaskar, Ivory Coast, Niger etc.

    Prasaditya Group, being a pioneer in India-Africa trade, was on Monday conferred two prestigious awards by the Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (Assocham) — Pioneer in Skilling Africa 2017 and Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2017 --- in the presence of Union minister for minority affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.

    The group had forayed into the African market through mini steel plant business in 1991 and acquired Tema Steel, Ghana, West Africa and turned it around soon. It continued to acquire facilities to boost its growth.
