Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Sunday said as a part of its commitment to provide the facility of women’s college every 20 kilometers in the State, the Government has decided to open 29 new colleges in the state next year.
Manohar Lal said this at Pravasi Haryana Sammelan in Patna while interacting with the people of Haryana origin residing in Bihar.
He said, the State Government had got completed the mapping exercise and 29 new women’s colleges would be opened in those areas which did not have any such college.
Under previous Governments, transfers had become an industry as these were done only through recommendations or with money. But the teachers transfer policy implemented by the present government has not only drawn appreciation from different states, but they have also expressed the desire to follow this policy in their states, he said.
The Chief Minister said that last year, transfer of about 42,000 teachers was done with the click of the mouse. Out of these, 93 per cent teachers got the posting of their choice, he added.
He also said that after opening women’s police station in each district of the state, the government has planned to open such police stations in all sub-divisions. The aim of the state government is to ensure 30 per cent representation to women in the state police force to effectively deal with crime against women, added he.
On employment, Manohar Lal said that the government has implemented Saksham Yojna under which the educated unemployed youth are provided Rs 9,000 per month, including Rs 3,000 as unemployment allowance, in lieu of 100 hours of work done by him or her.
A Skill Development University has been set up in district Palwal where soft skill courses have been started. The government has also decided to provide employment opportunities to about two lakh youth in the next two years, the Chief Minister added.
Manohar Lal, while interacting with the mediapersons later said that the BJP will certainly win the assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat.
Asked to comment on the suggestions made by him that only educated MLAs and MPs should be elected, the Chief Minister said the Haryana Government had earlier made it mandatory that only educated representatives would be elected to Panchayats, Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads.
The State Government had to face lot of hurdles from different corners in implementing this decision, but we were committed to bringing about reforms in the Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) system, he added.
In reply to a question on liquor supply, the Chief Minister said the Haryana Government had made a provision under which liquor vends would not be opened in those villages of the state where gram panchayats send a resolution in this regard to the state government before December 31, 2017.
