Chief Electoral Officer of Jharkhand L Khiyangte visited Hazaribagh on Saturday to review the progress of ongoing revision work of electoral roll 2018 in Hazaribagh district. Khiyangte also visited Mandu block and Barhi sub-division and took a close look of the progress of ongoing exercise.
DC cum District Election officer Ravishankar Shukla and other officials welcomed the CEO at Hazaribagh and made him acquainted with the present status of ongoing electoral roll revision work. He gave some directions to the officials and said that since the election work is directly linked with our constitution so all works should be completed within given time frame.
Khiyangte also sat with the BLOs and computer operators of Municipal area and directed them to complete the work by visiting every home so that every eligible voter should take part in the festival of democracy. He also visited district election office and the office of local agency to whom the work of preparing electoral roll and voters id-card has been given.
Khiangte also visited Mandu block office and inspected the election office of the block. From Hazaribagh Khiyangte went straight to Barhi sub-division where too he inspected the election officer’s office and sat with the BLOs and other concerned officials and staffs.
After the end of meeting DC Ravishankar Shukla presented a coffee table book of Hazaribagh to the CEO of the State as a memento from the district. On this occasion SDO Aditya Ranjan, AC Dilip Tirkey, NDC Vivek Kumar Mehta and others were also present.
