BJP would retain power in Gujarat, says Ahir

Union Minister Hansraj Ahir today exuded confidence that the would retain power in saying the party would win 130 seats.

"The would once again come to power in Gujarat, despite the ongoing false propaganda by the opposition parties," the minister of state for home told reporters here.


According to Ahir, "would bag 130 of the total 182 seats in Gujarat".

will vote in two phases -- on December 9 and 14 -- to elect a new 182-member Assembly. The counting of votes will take place on December 18.

The Minister was in the town where he launched a channel.

Ahir also rubbished the misplaced "impression" that Muslims were behind "anti-national acts like insurgencies and stone pelting in was incorrect".

"Many a times, there were insurgencies and stone pelting. But it has now been minimised and the impression that Muslims are behind such anti-national activities is not correct. They too are nationalists and often sacrifice their precious lives for the nation," he added.
