Telangana, the youngest state of India, will have its own “State song” and it will be “Telangana Bhu Matruke Suprabhatam”.
Written by famous poet A Nateswara Sarma and set to tune by Ramachari, the song will be unveiled by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at the World Telugu Conference in Hyderabad starting December 15.
The song will have 42 stanzas extolling the greatness of all the 31 districts. KCR, a vowed advocate of promoting Telugu language and Telangana culture has also agreed to the proposal that the World Telugu Conference should open with this song. The Conference was expected to be attended by more than 15,000 people, many of the Telugu NRIs from United States, Britain, Gulf and other countries.
This is first major Telugu language event in Hyderabad after the bifurcation of the Andhra Pradesh and formation of Telangana in 2014.
Both the States claim themselves to be Telugu States with a tinge of rivalry who was the genuine repository of the language and culture.
