The Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya on Saturday released a book titled ‘Mandane: Malwa ki ek lokkatha’ written by Anita Saxena, who is a well known folk artist.
On the occasion the chief guest of this programme, Sachchidananda Joshi (Member Secretary, Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts, New Delhi) said, “In the present situation in India cities lost their identity and village lost their dignity and that the publication of this book has forced one to think on the roots and about the measures how we preserve the rural culture.”
While conducting the programme, Sudhir Shrivastava said, “The book will be established as a milestone in the field of folk art of Malwa.”
The writer of the book, Anita Saxena explained her journey for writing this book, saying, “It is a combined effort of all the rural women of Malwa region and her family members as well.” She thanked the IGRMS for publishing this book.
Ashok Sharma (PRO, IGRMS) proposed a vote of thanks. A large number of writers, folk experts were present on this occasion.
