The Punjab Under 17 girls hockey team of Punjab took the runners up spot in the 63rd National School Games which concluded at Ambala on Saturday.
With this achievement under its kitty, the Punjab team also got chosen for the 'Khelo India' programme and 6 of its players got selected for the Indian National School team.
Punjab Education Minister, Aruna Chaudhary has extended her congratulations to the team and the coaching staff for this achievement. Expressing happiness at the selection of the 6 girls for the National team, the minister extended personal congratulations to them and hoped that these players would become the shining stars of the National team in future.
The minister also congratulated the team coach Gurinder Singh Sangha besides manager Harvinder Kaur.
