Chief Minister Raman Singh on Saturday launched the 10-day ‘Tendupatta Bonus Tihar’ to be celebrated in eight insurgency infested districts of the State.
He attended the programmes in three insurgency infested districts on Saturday organised by Primary Forest Produce Co-operative Committees and distributed bonus amounting to Rs 23 crore to 39,589 Tendupatta collectors.
The move would benefit around 11 lakh Tendupatta collectors in the State with the distribution of bonus, officials informed.
On the occasion , the Chief Minister distributed bonus to Tendupatta collectors who are members of total of 18 District Forest Produce Co-operative Unions. The festival is being held from December 2 to 11.
On the first day of the festival, Singh also inaugurated development works amounting to Rs 212 crore and carried out bhoomi pujan at a function organised at Bijapur district headquarters as part of Tendupatta Bonus Tihar.
