Cops begin probe into viral video of college girl molest

BARGARH : Bargarh police initiated a probe into the video clippings of a girl in college uniform being molested on road, which went viral in social media in the district on Saturday.In the video clips, a group of youths are seen molesting the girl and assaulting a boy accompanying her on a road. The college girl is seen begging the molesters to leave her. The youths are also seen chasing the girl and her companion on the road using abusive language. Surprisingly, though commuters are moving on the road during the incident, nobody is seen opposing the heinous act. 

Bargarh SP B Jugal Kishore said the incident might have taken place in Padampur sub-division of the district. The exact date of the incident is yet to be ascertained.The SP said no complaint has been lodged in any police station of the district in this connection. However, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Padampur has been directed to inquire into the matter and locate the spot where the incident took place, he said. 

Padampur SDPO L N Panda said a team has already been formed to inquire into the incident. “We are trying to ascertain the identity of the girl, who is in the video, and the exact location where the crime took place. If required, police will suo motu file a case after the girl’s identity is ascertained,” he said.
