Yes, the stuff you get caught around your ankles at the beach.

In Green Seas, David Attenborough visited the sea bed and found acres of the stuff in what was described as a “marine forest”.

That’s a bit like bigging up “Thames Beach”.

There were fish, too, including the wonderfully named Garibaldi which, sadly, looked nothing like either the biscuit or the Italian patriot.

It would, however, look amazing on a plate.

We also had the rather fetching pyjama shark; yes, it was very stripy.

There was also a “raft of sea otters”, very pleasing to the eye, and a herd of hungry humpbacks whom you would rather avoid if you were out on your cabin cruiser of a Saturday afternoon.
