According to The Sun on Sunday, Martin is the Championship leaders’ top target.
And they could throw fringe man Ben Marshall into the mix in a bid to seal a deal.
Derby boss Gary Rowett is a fan of winger Marshall, who has made just one start this season.
Wolves are eager to beef up their attack for the second half of the campaign.
Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo needs back up for the likes of Leo Bonatini and Jota.
Wolves have cash to splash in their bid to reach the Premier League while Derby are hoping to raise funds.
Martin, 29, has made just three starts for the Rams this season and could be tempted to make the short trip to Molineux.
He is under contract at the iPro Stadium until 2020, having signed a new three-year deal while on loan at Fulham last term.

Marshall, 26, is a target for Derby and has found it hard to win regular minutes under Espirito Santo.
He has spent less than a year at Wolves, having joined from Blackburn last January.
Another striker on Wolves’ wish list is Sunderland loanee Lewis Grabban.
