Arsenal legend Ian Wright FURIOUS with defence for throwing away Man Utd clash

ARSENAL dominated Manchester United and lost the match for themselves with individual errors.

Ian Wright was furious at Laurent Koscielny's performance against Man Utd

That’s the opinion of Gunners legend Ian Wright.

The two sides played out a thrilling contest at the Emirates on Saturday, with a brace from Jesse Lingard and a world class performance from David De Gea handing United a 3-1 win.

Arsenal had opportunities to win the game and according to Wright, they shot themselves in the foot by giving away goals through sloppy errors.

“Arsene Wenger said it was a disastrous start for them with the mistakes they made,” he said on Match of the Day.

“Arsenal had 33 shots compared to Manchester United's eight but there were mistakes in that.

“I'm not taking anything away from United, and the way they played, but you don't play a pass across the pitch like Koscielny did for the first goal.

“I think those goals could have been avoided by simply just switching on.”

Antonio Valencia and Alexandre Lacazette also scored as United finished the match with 10 men, after Paul Pogba was sent off for a stamp on Hector Bellerin.

The win keeps United second in the table, seven points clear of fifth-placed Arsenal.
