Real Madrid star Ronaldo exploded after Athletic Bilbao draw because of Chelsea ace Morata

REAL MADRID star Cristiano Ronaldo exploded at the club’s decision to sell Alvaro Morata to Chelsea after their La Liga draw against Athletic Bilbao yesterday.

Real Madrid missed out on the chance to narrow the gap on league leaders Barcelona with a goalless draw against Bilbao.

Ronaldo, stuck on just two La Liga goals for the season, was unable to fire Los Blancos to a much-needed win.

Karim Benzema toiled up front in another sign that the France international may be past his prime.

And Spanish website Don Balon claim Ronaldo exploded after the game, and questioned the Real Madrid's decision to let Morata slip through their gasp.

The Spain international was sold despite scoring 20 goals from 42 games last season.

And Morata’s form for Chelsea shows Los Blancos made the wrong decision.

The 25-year-old has bagged 10 goals from 20 games to help Chelsea fight their way back into the Premier League title race.

Don Balon say Ronaldo has already exploded in a fit of rage about the transfer on several occasions.

And he blames Zinedine Zidane for forcing Morata out of the Bernabeu and over to Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, Zidane insists the wins will come despite seeing his side held to a draw.

"Real Madrid are eight points behind Barcelona because we don't score enough," Zidane said.

"Compared to last year, results are changing.

"I see the game today and I can't say that we play differently to last year.

"Last year there were games we won in the last minute and this year we can't do that.

"I'm not concerned but I'm disappointed for the players.

"My job is to make sure we are positive and playing so that the goals will come."
