Thane: The district sport office (DSO) of Thane has invited applications from sports achievers, coaches, administrators and sports outfits promoting sports from across the district to apply for various state government awards.
Shiv Chhatrapati Krida Puraskar and other awards are given by the directorate of sports and youth services, Maharashtra government, every year to encourage sportspersons and organizations boosting sports.
For the first time, applications can be submitted online along with as many supporting documents as possible since the previous 100-page cap on documents has been lifted.
December 9 is the last date of submission of online applications along with relevant documents for the highest sports awards for consecutive three calendar years 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17.
Medal recipients at national and international platforms in various games, adventure sports, in addition to organizers and administrators are advised to send applications for Shiv Chhatrapati Rajya Krida Puraskar. Eklavya Puraskar will be bestowed upon differently-abled achievers.
Able sports coaches and women sports administrators can apply for Jijamata Rajya Krida Puraksar while veteran sports promoters will be tipped for Shiv Chhatrapati Rajya Krida Lifetime Achievement award.
According to district sports officer Vinodini Amrutwad, the documents must be uploaded online by December 9 and a copy of the same should be submitted at the district sport office on or before December 11.
The applicants should have domicile of at least 15 years in Maharashtra. Each winners will get Rs 1 lakh apart from citation. Forms can be uploaded on www.mumbaidivisionsports.com.
