AC MILAN were held to a shock 2-2 draw against lowly Benevento after the home side’s goalkeeper scored in the last minute.

Benevento had lost all 14 of their Serie A games heading into this clash.

And they were on course for another defeat until Alberto Brignoli popped up with the winner.

Brignoli charged up the field for a final free-kick in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

And he rose to head home the set-piece into the bottom corner of the Gianluigi Donnarumma’s net.

Fans at the Stadio Ciro Vigorito erupted as Brignoli ran off in wild celebration.

"There was nothing to lose,” Brignoli said after the game.

“I just closed my eyes and jumped. It was a goalkeeper's goal, not a forward's goal.”

Milan had led through Giacomo Bonaventura before being pegged back by George Puscas.

That goal itself got the stadium rocking.

But Milan looked set for all three points when Nikola Kalinic put them back in front on 57 minutes.

Alessia Romagnoli was sent off with 15 minutes remaining and Benevento sniffed a chance.

And they got it with a fairytale moment at the death.
