HYDERABAD: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is finding tough in handling the IT applications due to increased IT services being provided by the corporation to its citizens. To support the online IT modules of GHMC, it has now drawn plans to recruit as many as 51 IT consultants.
Presently, GHMC IT wing is playing role in all the wings of GHMC. Realising the importance the GHMC Standing Committee gave green signal to the proposal submitted by the corporation. The recruitment process will be through Centre for God Governance (CGG) and for selected candidates training will be provided by CGG on all the modules.
GHMC officials said that IT section of GHMC has gone through process of evolution as compared to previous years as the importance of IT has increased in all aspects and in all wings of GHMC. All the payments , applications, approvals, reports, proceedings and mobile apps are developed through GHMC IT wing. The work staff in IT wing for handling the applications and issues related with these application will not suffice the present requirement, also the need of designated resources on outsourcing basis in IT wing is important for smooth functioning, they added.
GHMC has worked out the details and came to conclusion that there is requirement of 51 IT Consultants. They include two for Town Planning wing for LRS, BRS, Fire module and Development Permission Management System (DPMS). An IT consultant for each circle office of GHMC and one IT consultant for each Zonal office of GHMC are needed for monitoring day to day issues in applications and citizen grievances related to IT section in GHMC . Altogether a total number of 51 (16 at at GHMC head office, 30 at Circle offices and five at Zonal offices) IT consultants would be recruited, they added.
