Udaipur: Speaking at the closing ceremony of 'Digifest' hosted by the department of information technology and Communications, chief minister Vasundhara Raje said the digital revolution is transforming lives, specially of the youth.
She added the need is to ensure that the advantages of technology reach the poorest sections of the society. Calling out to the youth, Raje said the next generation should contribute in digitalization so that people residing in remotest areas may have access to better services and delivery. She further said that Rajasthan has been leading in digitalization and 20% of the beneficiaries in the country under Direct Benefit Transfer scheme are here under the Bhamashah Yojana.
Raje digitally inaugurated various projects on this occasion including Abhay command centre and an indoor multipurpose hall in Udaipur. In her address Raje said that to encourage students to take up projects related to information technology, 100 youths including 25 girls would be sent to Silicon Valley for training.
Raje inaugurated the 'I start' incubator set up in Jaipur for budding entrepreneurs to assist them connect with venture capital companies. On the occasion, Raje also inaugurated Raj Wi-Fi system, a free internet service for the common people.
In the first phase Badgao, Girva and the RNT Medical College would provide free internet services to the users and in the coming days the facility would be available in 10,000 rural and 5,000 urban centres.
Gyan Darpan- a device to facilitate e-learning among tribal students was also launched. Abhay Command Centre, an ambitious project of the police department too was inaugurated.
