Alexandre Lacazette then pulled one back for the Gunners three minutes into the second half, but 14 minutes later Paul Pogba whipped the ball across the box and Lingard restored United’s two-goal cushion with his second strike of the day.

With just over 15 minutes remaining, United midfielder Pogba was sent off for a stamp on Hector Bellerin - but the Gunners could not find a route back into the game.
