When his celebrity partner Susan Calman was eliminated, the 35-year-old pro delivered an emotional speech about his time on the show. 

However, many fans thought it sounded like a goodbye and flocked to social media to share their devastation at the thought. 

Although Kevin's wife, Karen, shunned rumours he would be leaving, fellow professional, Oti Mabuse, has reignited the fire.

The professional told her 50,000 Twitter followers: "Most heart breaking fact is that @bbcstrictly has just lost its BEST CHOREOGRAPHER!!!

"Lots of love @keviclifton won't be the same without you #myinspiration."

Kevin replied to the sweet message, saying: "So sweet thanks @otimabuse. U know I love your choreography. Loved everything u & @JonniePeacock did this year @bbcstrictly x."

Fans immediately considered the worst after the tweet and commented in their droves about how much they would miss Kevin. 

One wrote: "Is he leaving for good????? No way, he can't! @keviclifton don't leave #strictly ...Why? You haven't been on for very long. What you going to do instead?! Can't believe it. Please re think."

Another added: "Really hope @keviclifton isn't leaving.  @BrendanCole made similar speech which sounded like he was leaving too. Hope they stay. Judges have been very biased this year."

A third posted: "Sounded like @keviclifton iwas making a goodbye speech.....hope not he's one of the best dancers."
