RANCHI: Ranchi will have a new area office of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) functional from January 1 next year to address grievances of passengers.
The Ranchi division of the South Eastern Railways (SER) on Friday announced that Ashwini Lohani, the chairman of the Railway Board approved the establishment of the office on Thursday. Lohani was on a daylong visit to Dhanbad and Ranchi and met chief minister Raghubar Das.
Das had demanded for IRCTC's area office several times in the past few months. He had also suggested the railways to consider having a joint office of SER and East Central Railways in Ranchi for better coordination.
