(MENAFN) Following the case of a toddler, aged two to three, entering a shop with no one accompanying him, police detained a woman on suspicion of child negligence.
In Belle Green Lane in Higher Ince, Wigan at around 16:20 GMT, the toddler who was reported missing walked into a shop before he was found and watched over by police as his parents were searched for by officers.
The boy's mother was then found as he was "safe and well," according to Greater Manchester Police. They also confirmed that a woman has been arrested and officers are conducting an interrogation with her.
Police stated that when the toddler stepped into the shop, he had been "appropriately dressed for the cold weather." It was also confirmed by Insp Nicola Williams "he is currently playing in the police station after having a little nap. He obviously must be scared however and just wants to go home."
