The Indian navy helicopter rescued persons whose boat was capsized due to Cyclone Ockhi in off Coast Kerala. Multiple districts in Kerala and Tamil Nadu were hit by strong winds and torrential rain bringing life to a standstill. Strong winds also caused trees to be uprooted damaging houses and vehicles. Power lines were also disrupted in many places.
